Welcome to Ruthie's Rentals web site. Just a little history to get you started. My husband Kenneth and I came to Rough Canyon on the Devils River arm of Lake Amistad in 1986. We had several small businesses over the years. My husband passed away several years ago, so this little "mom and pop" place is now "mom's place."
Ruthie's Rentals is about 24 miles from Del Rio, and is very close to the boat ramps at Rough Canyon Marina, and not far from Amistad National Recreation Area's Hunt Area # 5 on Hwy 277 N. Hunt Area # 4 is boat in only, and Rough Canyon is a great place to have your hunting "headquarters" stationed.
I rent ten fully-furnished mobile homes that have everything you need for that perfect fishing, hunting, or boating getaway. The mobile homes include linens, dishes, towels, satellite dish, and much more. There are four 2 bedroom mobile homes, and six 3 bedroom mobile homes. They all have yards, trees grass, decks and BBQ pits. Four of the mobile homes overlook the lake. I also have a store with a full line of groceries, ice etc. It's a small place with a lot of "down home" atmosphere and Southwest Texas hospitality. It is a great place for a vacation, weekend fishing, hunting, water skiing trip, or even a family reunion.
The Devils River offers so much to see. Imagine clear, blue water, high bluffs, Indian paintings that are over 9,000 years old, and miles of shoreline with beautiful scenery that is unique to Lake Amistad. The river is fed by a series of springs and is one of the cleanest, clearest rivers in Texas. Indian springs is about 7 miles up river from Rough Canyon.
Primitive camping is accessible on the banks of Lake Amistad in accordance with the National Park Service backcountry camping regulations. There is a full restaurant out here plus a marina for gas. Bring the kids, bring their bicycles and have a vacation at Ruthie's Rentals
